Almost done the 100% top to bottom rebuild on our 53 cabinaire.
*         New 30hp 4 stroke Mercury
*         Marine plywood transom, seats and dash
*         Horn, lights and depth finder
*         Polished!

More photos as the snow goes away!  We launch May long weekend at Pigeon Lake, Alberta!

The boat received a 100% rebuild including replacing any worn rivets.  Anti slip floor paint, transom moved to 20" to accommodate long leg Mercury, lights, horn and depth finder.  Lots of work put into original tilting trailer.

Well worth the effort...this thing is 64 years old and looks brand new!  Look forward to breaking in the new motor in May.

Well folks…I finally got working on my 1953 Cabinaire with my father.  Unfortunately, my father needed to teach yet another lesson in life, one that would have me finish this thing on my own.  He passed away this summer after we redid the trailer and had the boat stripped down.  Now, it’s up to me.  The boat will be re-named “Lucien3” in my father’s honor.  It will be shortly retrofitted with a new motor, seats, electrical and finish.  Polish saved for spring of 2016 and we should be fishing by April!

Pictures to follow….

Appreciate the feedback. My family was all nestled in between Kenora, Ontario and Ste. Agathe, father operated many Aroliner units as his first job was patrolling Lake of the Woods for capsized US fisherman! It has been our goal to own one again...he is 82 so we are looking hard! I will manage all if I can attain a cabinaire.
Found one! Located a Cabinaire in Ontario and it arrives here in Edmonton tomorrow. Wondering if there are any records to verify date. Seller stated it was a 1953 but the plate shows unit 533 and my research shows in may in fact be an earlier vintage.

Any way of finding out?
